Eric DeTemmerman, MHA, Hospital Administrator

Eric joined IVS as the Hospital Administrator in July of 2008. 

Eric is from Oelwein in northeast Iowa. He received his Masters in Healthcare Administration from the University of Iowa in 2001 and his Bachelor of Arts in Community and Public Health from the University of Northern Iowa in 1999. Eric also completed internships at Grinnell Regional Medical Center and the Iowa Department of Public Health.

Eric began his career as the Administrative Fellow for for the VISN 8 Sunshine Healthcare Network, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Eric then spent three years as the Budget Analyst for the VA Central Iowa Healthcare System in Des Moines.  Prior to joining IVS Eric was the Operations Manager of the Occupational Health clinic at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. 

Eric lives in Des Moines with is wife Trisha. He is the parent of a very spoiled American Eskimo named Sweetie and a recently adopted English Pointer named Sammy Six. 

Eric is a member of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and the Best Friends Animal Society.

According to Eric, the best part of his job is "seeing patients leave our hospital happy and healthy with tails wagging ". "There is truly nothing that makes me happier and no other place I would rather work."
